Atlas has recently supplied a mobile drum mix asphalt plant of 60-90 tph along with a bitumen drum decanter to DRC. The layout of both these equipment is set in such a way that it immensely benefits the customer. Our aim when presenting the layout to the customer was to ensure that their land area is utilized aptly. We wanted to make sure that all the entry and exit points are well considered and vehicle movement is well taken care of.
The bitumen drum decanter supplied along with this asphalt plant should be ensuring that it can easily supply bitumen to the asphalt plant nearby. Understanding the site layout will help us arrange the components in such a way that it will optimise the flow and performance. The customer had opted for a mobile drum mixer along with a 2 row bitumen decanter.
It is a compact and comprehensive setup, it is designed for ease of operations. The feeders are placed in such a way that it will ease the feeding of the aggregates. The plant also has a drying and mixing drum that is insulated along with a wet dust collector for pollution control. The fuel tank is of capacity 30,000 liters and so is the bitumen tank. Bitumen tank is placed near to the drum decanter machine to facilitate easy loading of the bitumen into the tank. The load out conveyor is placed in such a way that it will load all the incoming trucks with hot mix asphalt.
The feature of decanter machine is that it has 2 rows which can take in barrels of 200 kgs. The design is containerized and it needs a single 40 HC container for transportation.

How long does it take for installation of 60-90 tph mobile drum mix plant?
The installation time for a standard 60-90 tph mobile drum mix plant will be 15-20 days including time for a trial run. But it is also important to understand the customer’s role in the same. All the necessary foundation plan to be prepared well in advance and all customer deliverables to be ready for smooth process.
What site preparations are required for the mobile drum mix plant?
For Atlas plants, we give customers foundation drawing well in advance. They can prepare the site as per the drawings in the foundation drawing. Apart from that we can try and adjust the layout as per their site conditions in order to maximise the site conditions. Apart from that a list is given to customers for items which they need to keep ready with them for the installation as a part of site preparations.
